Grand Atlas Tours claimed Google violates Sherman Act

A federal judge has dismissed an antitrust class action suit filed against Google by DC tour operator Grand Atlas Tours at the tour operator's request.

Grand Atlas Tours said in a brief statement that it was dismissing the suit "without prejudice," which means the company can still pursue this action in the future.

In its filing, Grand Atlas Tours claimed that it and a proposed class of Google ad users "suffered economic losses due to Google's monopolization" of the technology that facilitates the purchase of digital ads; also that Google violates Section 2 of the Sherman Act, which bars the creation and maintenance of monopolies, as well as California's Unfair Competition Law.

Grand Atlas Tours had sought to represent a proposed class consisting of US persons and entities that had used Google's display advertising services since January 2016.
