New-York-based market researchers eMarketer predict that Google and Facebook will continue to dominate digital advertising in the UK until at least 2019.
Their combined ad revenues in 2017 are expected to be 6.3B GBP, with 70% of that going to Google.
A total of 11.4B GBP (up 11% from 2016) is predicted to be spent on digital ads in the UK in 2017, including 4.2B GBP worth of mobile ads (up 27%).
There are some indications that UK advertisers are shifting ad spend from traditional media to digital as Brexit-related uncertainty leads brands to seek higher ROI.
